10 Digit Dialing/Areacode Change
Please choose your operating system to view instructions on how to dial the area code (Effective March 14th, 2005):
Windows 98
To make the NETDOOR connection use the area code:

Click the 'Start button'
- Go to Settings
- Click 'Control Panel'
- Click 'Modems'
- Click on Dialing Properties
- Enter 601 in the area code field
- Click on 'Area Code Rules'
- Check 'Always dial the area code (10-digit dialing)'
- Click OK out of everything and close the Control Panel.
- Click 'My Computer' on the 'Desktop'
- Click 'Dial-Up Networking'
- Right click on 'NETDOOR'
- Left click on 'Properties'
- Check 'Use area code and dialing properties'
- Make sure 601 is entered in the area code field before the number
- Click OK
Windows 2000
To make the NETDOOR connection use the area code:
- Click the 'Start button'
- Go to Settings
- Click 'Control Panel'
- Click ' Network and Dial-Up Connections'
- Right click on 'NETDOOR'
- Left click on 'Properties'
- Check 'Use dialing rules'
- Make sure 601 is entered in the area code field before the number
- Click on the Rules button
- Click on My Location and then click the Edit button
- Make sure 601 is entered in the area code field
- Click on the Area Code Rules tab
- Click on the New button
- Enter the area code 601. Check "Include the area code" and then
click on the OK button.
Windows ME
To make the NETDOOR connection use the area code:

Click the 'Start button'
- Go to Settings
- Click 'Control Panel'
- Click 'Modems'
- Click on Dialing Properties
- Enter 601 in the area code field
- Click on 'Area Code Rules'
- Check 'Always dial the area code (10-digit dialing)'
- Click OK back to the Control Panel.
- Click 'Dial-Up Networking'
- Right click on 'NETDOOR'
- Left click on 'Properties'
- Check 'Use area code and dialing properties'
- Make sure 601 is entered in the area code field before the number
- Click OK
Windows XP Classic View
To make the NETDOOR connection use the area code:
- Click the 'Start button'
- Go to Settings
- Click 'Control Panel'
- Click 'Network Connections'
- Right click on 'NETDOOR'
- Left click on 'Properties'
- Check 'Use dialing rules'
- Make sure 601 is entered in the area code field before the number
- Click on the Dialing Rules button
- Click on My Location and then click the Edit button
- Make sure 601 is entered in the area code field
- Click on the Area Code Rules tab
- Click on the New button
- Enter the area code 601. Check "Include the area code" and then
click on the OK button.
Windows XP Category View
To make the NETDOOR connection use the area code:
- Click the 'Start button'
- Click 'Control Panel'
- Click 'Network and Internet Connections'
- Click 'Network Connections'
- Right click on 'NETDOOR'
- Left click on 'Properties'
- Check 'Use dialing rules'
- Make sure 601 is entered in the area code field before the number
- Click on the Dialing Rules button
- Click on My Location and then click the Edit button
- Make sure 601 is entered in the area code field
- Click on the Area Code Rules tab
- Click on the New button
- Enter the area code 601. Check "Include the area code" and then
click on the OK button.
Mac OSX
To make the NETDOOR connection use the area code:
- Click the Apple Menu
- Click 'System Properties'
- Click 'Network'
- Make sure the 'Configure' dropdown has your modem selected
- Click the 'PPP' Tab
- Add '601' to the beginning of the number in the 'Telephone number' field.
- (For 10.2) Click Save, Then close System Preferences
(For 10.3) Close System Preferences, click save when prompted.
