Networking with a NETDOOR DSL Connection

What type of computer setup do you have?

One computer with your DSL modem (Typical Setup)

*Please note that your DSL modem is preconfigured for ease of installation*

Equipment needed:

  1. A computer with a network card (NIC)
  2. A DSL Connection
  3. A DSL modem. [Zoom network settings]
  4. Ethernet cable (packaged with Zoom modem)
  5. Phone cord (pacakged with Zoom modem)

Setting up your computer with a DSL modem

  1. Make sure you have all the equipoment listed above.
  2. Make sure all of your equipment (the DSL modem and your computer) are powered down.
  3. Connect one end of the phone cord (A) into the phone jack (A) (Do NOT install a filter on this line).
  4. Plug the other end of the phone cord (A) into the DSL modem, in the labeled port "ADSL" (A).
  5. Connect one end of the network cable (B) into the "Ethernet" port (B) on the DSL modem.
  6. Connect the other end of the network cable (B) into the network card installed in your computer
  7. Plug the power adapter into the "PWR" port on the back of the ADSL modem.
  8. Turn on the power to the modem and wait for the test/sync lights to stop flashing
  9. Turn on your computer and follow the software setup instructions.
